Autumn Charm at Swancar

We love the colours for this beautiful wedding, the rusts, oranges and peaches were just gorgeous.

Our brief for this stunning wedding at Swancar was simply rust, orange, beige and earthy tones and we were then left to do our thing.

The backdrop of Swancar Farm Country House was perfect for Lauren and Matt theme and style. The stone floors, wooden pillars and beams worked with their styling beautifully and Lauren looked stunning.

When styling flowers for a wedding we always take the lead from the main flowers whether that be the buttonholes or bouquets. These buttonholes were certainly taking the lead at this wedding.

And finally we have this beautiful cake decorated in the same flowers and colour scheme to compliment and enhance the wedding decor.

Christmas Decorations

Christmas seems to have come and gone so quick this year but we have been kept busy with fresh and artificial installations at some beautiful venues and we have had a blast.

Our first was at the lovely Eden Hall with their door garland and hallway decorations we used mixtures of fresh and artificial material to create both designs. We used eucalyptus, holly, ruscus, twigs, pampas grass, broom and cones, lotus heads and cinnamon sticks.

Our second venue was the beautiful Allington Manor which included decorations for the mantels, stairway and front door. We again kept things natural with cinnamon sticks, cones, lotus heads, dried oranges and orange slices with lots of fresh foliage's.

And lastly but not least the stunning Norwood Park, we decorated the mantels and doorway and we used fresh and dried materials. The arrangements couldn't be complete without of course a Bramley apple or two direct from the fruit farm at Norwood Park where the Bramley apple first grew.

We hope everyone has a great year and whatever highs or lows the world throws at you remember 'Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself' just like a flower xx

Romantic setting at Norwood

We can't begin to say how beautiful this wedding was and we can't even begin to say how in love this couple was and are. We are just going to show you the photo's and let them speak for themselves.

2020 and 2021 has not been the best for weddings but seeing couples get married, even though it has mean't, in some cases heartache has been touching and made us sit back and realise the meaning of getting married again. This couple was one of those couples that put the meaning back into marriage.

Louisa and Wilson's Wedding at The Old Vicarage Boutique

Weddings this year have been different to say the least. 2020 will not be forgotten in a hurry, the wedding industry has adapted more than once this year to cope with the new restrictions that Covid-19 has brought to the country.

A wedding take months to plan and sometimes years, we have heard may times over the past few months the words 'it's only a wedding' or 'it's only one day'. For some people this is not just a wedding, it's a day filled with emotion and happiness. It's a new start as man and wife and for families to come together. Some family members may never get another chance to see their loved ones get married.

Louisa and Wilson were so lucky their wedding took place just before the new rules of only 15 people being able to attend a wedding. They had to move their wedding from the beginning of the year to September and the thought of having to move again was stressful, not just for Louisa and Wilson but also for their guests and suppliers.......but we did it!!!!! :) It was an amazing day for an amazing couple!!!!!

L ouisa looked stunning and to complement her beautiful dress we created a bouquet which included Cymbidium Orchids, Wax Flower, O'Hara roses, white Thistle, bleached Ruscus, Rosemary, Hypericum Berries and Veronica.

Louisa wanted her bouquet to be soft and romantic and reflect her theme and style. Wilson's buttonhole needed to include a small mixture of flowers to mirror Louisa's bouquet and still be in keeping with his outfit.

The stunning orangery at The Vicarage Boutique Hotel was decorated with candelabra's for their wedding breakfast and the main door with a wicker heart and flowers. The ceremony was decorated with lanterns and sashes and foliage on the aisle chairs.

We love weddings, we love the atmosphere and the preparation and helping our couples create the day they want, this wedding was no exception but under the circumstances it was that little bit more special xx

Sarah and Nathan's Romantic Wedding

Sarah was a bride with a clear vision and knew how she wanted her wedding to look. This is great for us because it gives us a template to work with and to start to bring flowers together to create this look. Everyone is different and when designing wedding flowers this needs to be reflected in the style and variety of flowers used.

The beautiful gallery at Norwood has a high ceiling therefore short or tall arrangements work well. Sarah opted for the candelabra's has her centerpieces, you can see from the image below these look amazing in this room and really were Sarah.

The pedestal arrangements below needed to continue Sarah's style of a soft, romantic and elegant feel. These were placed in the bar area of Norwood so that they greeted the guests as they came for the wedding breakfast.

The cake was delicate and beautifully decorated so all that was need was a simple O'Hara rose with Freesia and Asparagus Fern.

Romantic Elegance

To compliant Claire's stunning dress we went for a shower bouquet in blush pinks, ivory and white flowers. We just adore this photo xxx

Ceremony ready with the twinkle of candlelight and the glistening of sequins all finished with blush pink and ivory flowers.

When designing a buttonhole certain things need to be taken into consideration, for example colour of suit, colour of tie and the gentleman's style. This stylist grouping would compliant most gentleman's suit.

Colourful flowers with rustic charm

We love colour so when we were approached by Amy and David to create their flowers for their big day and Amy told us the colour scheme we couldn't wait to get started. After looking at Amy's dress, the bridesmaids dresses and David's suits we knew just what to create.

We just love funny photo's :) and this one is great!!!

Jess and Joe's Country House Wedding

Romantic Country House Wedding

Where do we start? As soon as we met Jess and Joe we knew this wedding was going to contain romance, love, a church and a country house.

Right from the start both Jess and Joe were involved in the design of their wedding flowers, they knew what they wanted and they knew the style and look they had in mind. Our job was to take these ideas and turn them into reality, we had to create romance with a soft feel and appearance with their flowers.

To create this look we used soft flowers and foliage's that naturally flowed and wasn't hard in appearance, the next was the colours, they needed to be subtle, light and delicate.

At Washingborough Hall we decorated their top table with a long and low design that softly fell over the front of their table. The guest tables were decorated with a ring of flowers around a glass storm vase and finished with a candle, again adding to the romantic feel of this beautiful room.

When Molly and Elliott first came to see us we could tell they were meant for one another. Elliott would be cracking one line jokes and Molly would be rolling her eyes with a smile.

They choose soft pinks with ivory and white flowers and beautiful David Austin roses with soft asparagus fern and Arena Lizzy.

The candlelight added extra romance at their wedding breakfast and the beautiful mantle's were decorated with flowers and foliage's to add more romantic candlelight.

Marquee Wedding

Each wedding is individual and takes on it's own form and with Diana and Martino's they wanted elegance, they wanted soft colours for their flowers to add romance to their beautiful marquee.

Their wedding was set at the beautiful Allington Manor just on the outskirts of Grantham, it was ideal for their intimate family wedding. The beautiful gardens made for some great photo opportunities and their floral arrangements bought some of the garden inside for their sit down wedding breakfast.

Green and Ivory

When we sit with our clients we always ask lots of questions, this is so important so that we get a feel for their theme and style of wedding. Two most important questions is - 1. Can we see your dress please? and 2. Where are you getting married.

These 2 questions are the starting point for us so that we can start to build ideas and from there start to design their floral arrangements. This wedding shows this perfectly, once we discussed ideas with our bride and we knew the venue and we saw the dress we knew rustic was the way to go.

A simple grouping of flowers for the gents buttonholes using spray roses, thistle, ivy, Rosemary and Thlaspi.

When you are getting married and you have a fireplace as beautiful as this it's a shame not to make it a feature.

A buttercream 4 tier cake with Rosemary and Eucalyptus for decoration.

Rich Reds and Golds

Allington Manor stands in the lovely village of Allington and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. In 1660 the Grant family owned the Manor but the property only passed through two more generations before the family fell on hard times and the Manor was sold in 1674 to Reverend Thomas Williamson for £841.

The Manor today is privately owned and run by the Vincent family.

Christmas 2018 we had the pleasure of working at Allington Manor on a photo shoot. The theme was rich reds and golds which was completed by lush green velvet and gold accessories.

With candles lit and places set we were ready for the photography to begin.

Once tables and rooms were given the Christmas feel it was time to put the finishing touches to our model bride.

'Ballet Pink'

The beautiful Lauren chose soft pinks and ivory tones to create a romantic feel to her wedding. She wanted a elegant and soft look to match her style and theme, she loved the look of a shower bouquet for herself and natural hand tied bouquets for her two bridesmaids who wore 'Ballet Pink' dresses. All this set the scene for Lauren and Matthew's beautiful romantic castle wedding.

We wanted this theme to travel with Lauren and Matthew from Newark Castle to their reception where they had tall elegant martini vases, this not only added height to the room but also an impact for when the guests walked into the room. For their top table they decide to have a flowing long and low design, this way everyone could see the bride and groom on their special day.

This wedding was unusual for us because it was the first steam punk wedding we had been asked to design. Seeing the bouquets and buttonholes come together with the dresses and suits was a exciting and a pleasure. The couple were great to work with and together we created their dream bespoke wedding bouquets and buttonholes.

Bright is beautiful

We had the pleasure of working with some beautiful colours a few weeks ago, the lovely couple wanted floral arrangements in orange and blue flowers.

The orange and blues really made a statement and complimented the rustic feel that the bride and groom wanted. Sometimes people want to add colour but are to worried and feel that it may not look right or be to bold for a wedding. We hope these photo’s show that bold, bright colours can be used and look beautiful in the process. x
